DAY 67/100 – 100 DAY HEALTH AND FINANCIAL CHALLENGE – Two thirds of the way through challenge

Day 1 of 30 Ramadan

9:39 p.m.

Today I had a new test. It was the first day of Ramadan today which meant I was fasting from 2:41 a.m. to 9:26 p.m. – that means no food or water at all between those hours..a very long day!

The weather was really warm today which made it even more challenging.

My normal wake up time of 4:55 a.m. is out the window for this month as I didn’t get to sleep until 3.00am. Instead I woke up around 8 a.m. and had a gentle start to the day.

I had already scheduled a day off from any strenuous work so most of day was just trying to get through the day 1 hour of time

The biggest challenge was whether I could keep up my exercise at any time today and I considered it a few times going to the gym but don’t want to tire myself out too early in the day and leave too many hours before the fast what due to open

In the end I got to the gym at 8:30 p.m. and managed to do 45 minutes cardio which was surprisingly very good considering that I have not eaten or drank anything for nearly 18 hours.

It was a real test of will and I had to stay focused counting down every minute of each exercise. I deliberately went at this time because I wanted to finish my exercise just as fast was about to open.

So that’s the first test passed. I know that I can do at least 45 minutes cardio if it comes to it but now I have to figure out how I can keep up the weight training as well.

It is now 9:52 p.m. and the only thing I’ve had since the fast opened is a glass of lemon water. I wanted to let this get into the system for 10 minutes before I had any other food so now that I’ve had 10 minutes I’m going to go and eat something.

It’s surprising after not eating or drinking anything all day just even having something small like a glass of lemon water can quench your cravings and desire.
